It seems that on a limited number of devices, the screen may go blank. If you have purchased your iPad Air directly from Apple, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/macreports.com\/how-to-find-receipts-for-apple-purchases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">view and download your receipt<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Turn Off Find My<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You&#8217;ll want to remove your device from Find My in order to disable Activation Lock. See below for more information on your options for erasing your iPad.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other Things Before you Mail your iPad <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>You should erase your device. If your screen is blank you will need to do this either on a computer or from iCloud.com using Find My.<ul><li>Erase your device from your computer using <a href=\"https:\/\/macreports.com\/how-to-use-recovery-mode-with-your-iphone-or-ipad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Recovery Mode<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/macreports.com\/how-to-erase-your-device-remotely-using-find-my\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Erase your Device Remotely using Find My<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Remove a SIM card, if you have one.<\/li><li>Remove any cases and screen protectors.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Service Options<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You have three options available for getting your iPad Air serviced. Before you are able to receive service on your device, it will be inspected to make sure it is eligible for the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Go to an <a href=\"https:\/\/getsupport.apple.com\/?caller=erep&amp;SG=SG004&amp;category_id=SC0999&amp;symptom_id=99927&amp;solution=CIN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Apple Authorized Service Provider<\/a> for inspection and service.<\/li><li>Arrange an appointment at an <a href=\"https:\/\/macreports.com\/how-to-make-a-genius-bar-reservation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Apple Store Genius Bar<\/a>.<\/li><li>Contact <a href=\"https:\/\/macreports.com\/apple-support-how-to-get-help\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Apple Support<\/a> about mailing-in your device for service.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important to Note<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Timeline<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to make use of the Apple Service Program to get your iPad Air serviced for free, you <strong>must arrange service within 2 years<\/strong> of the original purchase date of the device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Additional Repair<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If your iPad Air requires additional repair in order to complete the service &#8211; for example, if your iPad has a cracked screen &#8211; then you may be charged for this additional repair.
