The sound was getting pretty irritating, especially when someone would send me multiple messages in a row. When I looked into what can be done to lower the volume of WhatsApp text notifications, I found a few settings that affect the sound of the notifications; however, there is no way to simply lower<em> only<\/em> the volume of the WhatsApp notifications. In this article, I will explain what you can do to change the sound and volume of WhatsApp notifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">WhatsApp message notification sounds<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Changing the notification volume<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, iOS only lets you adjust <strong>one<\/strong> volume for both ringtones and notifications. To adjust this volume:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/macreports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/iphone-settings-sounds-and-haptics.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1369\" height=\"1358\" src=\"https:\/\/macreports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/iphone-settings-sounds-and-haptics.png\" alt=\"iphone settings sounds and haptics\" class=\"wp-image-55441\" style=\"width:547px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/macreports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/iphone-settings-sounds-and-haptics.png 1369w, https:\/\/macreports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/iphone-settings-sounds-and-haptics-400x397.png 400w, https:\/\/macreports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/iphone-settings-sounds-and-haptics-1024x1016.png 1024w, https:\/\/macreports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/iphone-settings-sounds-and-haptics-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/macreports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/iphone-settings-sounds-and-haptics-768x762.png 768w, https:\/\/macreports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/iphone-settings-sounds-and-haptics-24x24.png 24w, https:\/\/macreports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/iphone-settings-sounds-and-haptics-48x48.png 48w, https:\/\/macreports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/iphone-settings-sounds-and-haptics-96x96.png 96w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1369px) 100vw, 1369px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Settings<\/strong> on your iPhone and tap on <strong>Sounds &amp; Haptics<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are two ways you can control the volume of the ringtone and alerts:\n<ul>\n<li>Change the position on the volume slider; drag left or right for quieter or louder tones.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enable or disable &#8220;Change with Buttons.&#8221; If you want to be able to turn down your ringtone and notification volume, enable &#8220;Change with Buttons&#8221; so that the volume buttons on the side of your phone will also adjust the volume of your WhatsApp notifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Changing the notification sound<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can change the sound you hear when you receive a WhatsApp message. To change the sound for individual message notifications, tap <strong>Sound<\/strong> under Message Notifications. Choose an option, then tap <strong>Save<\/strong>.
