How to Remove Timer in the Status Bar on iPhone
After you set a timer via the Clock app, when you exit the Clock app, a timer icon is placed in the status bar as a reminder of your iPhone’s active timer. However, I find the iPhone timer icon in the status bar annoying. I often accidentally tap it and pause the timer. Thus, I do not want to see it there. If you do not want to see the timer reminder in the status bar, then this article is for you.
If you want to remove the timer, swipe the black status bar (the Dynamic Island) to the left. This will cause the timer to disappear. But do not worry; you did not pause or stop the timer. You just removed it from the status bar.
If you want to bring back the timer icon, swipe the black status bar to the right, and the timer will come back.
There may be times when there are two reminders in the status bar; let’s say one is the music you are listening to and the other is the Clock app. Then, you need to swipe them to the left individually.
Also, you should know that when you remove the timer icon, this is not a permanent setting. The next time you set a timer, the icon will appear again.
If you’re in the middle of cleaning or simply want to minimize the time spent on a particular activity, timers are incredibly useful for a variety of purposes. The faster you can set one, the more time you’ll have to focus on what truly matters. You can set a timer by:
- Opening the Clock app and tapping the Timers tab.
- Opening the Control Center and then long-pressing the Timer icon. A minutes bar will appear. Swipe up or down to set the duration of the timer.
- Asking Siri to set a timer for you. You can say, “Siri, set the timer for 10 minutes.”
You can also create multiple timers. If you have multiple timers running, the status bar will show the oldest one.
