How to Find your Lost Apple TV Remote
An Apple TV remote is tiny and easy to lose. Mine often slips between or under cushions or gets lost behind or under the couch or coffee table. But the good news is that you can easily find it using your iPhone. In this article, I explain how you can do that.
Requirements:
You need:
- Apple TV Remote or Siri Remote (2nd generation) or later
- Your iPhone must have iOS 17 or later. Go to Settings > General > Software Update if you need to update.
- Your Apple TV must have tvOS 17 or later. Go to Settings > System > Software Updates.
- Your TV and iPhone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Steps:
- On your iPhone, open Control Center by swiping down from the top-right corner of the screen.
- From the list of apps and services, tap Remote. If you do not see the Remote option, go to Settings > Control Center and add Apple TV Remote.
- Tap the device list or your Apple TV remote, then tap Find next to your lost remote.
The iPhone will search for the remote. The screen will display “Searching for signal. Try moving to a different location.” If your iPhone cannot locate the remote, move to a different place and keep trying until your iPhone detects the remote. Follow the onscreen prompts to locate your remote. The circle on your screen and haptics will change as you get closer to the remote.
