How to Put a Song or Album on Repeat in Apple Music
There are many times when I would like to have music playing continuously. Music is often something played in the background, and when a song or album is over, it’s nice to have something else play automatically–instead of the music just stopping. Apple’s controls for looping songs or albums can be a little confusing. The first step is actually finding the controls, which aren’t always visible when you have the app open. In this article, I’ll tell you how you can set your songs, albums and playlists to repeat in Apple Music on your iPhone or iPad.
How to repeat a song or album in Apple Music
First, the easiest way to get Apple Music to repeat a song or album may be to ask Siri to do it:
- “Hey Siri, repeat this song.”
- “Hey Siri, repeat this album.”
The repeat controls in Apple Music
To find the repeat controls in Apple Music:
- With Apple Music open, tap to open the song that is playing.
- In the lower-right corner, you will find a button with three dots and lines called the Playing Next button. Tap it.
- Now you can see the shuffle and repeat controls. The Repeat (loop) button is between the Shuffle and Autoplay (infinity) buttons.
- To repeat a single song, press the Repeat button until it shows a number 1 on it.
- To repeat an album or playlist, press the Repeat button until it is highlighted, but is not showing a number 1.
The other controls in Apple Music
There are two other buttons that control which songs are played next in Apple Music.
- The Shuffle button: If you are playing an album or playlist, you can tap the Shuffle button to play songs in a random order.
- The Autoplay button (infinity button): Pressing this button will let Apple Music decide which songs to play next. It will choose songs it thinks are similar to the one you are currently playing.
