How to Quickly Unblock a Lot of Contacts Easily, Quickly on iPhone, iPad or Mac
Unblocking a person on your iPhone, iPad or Mac is easy and pretty straight forward. However, if you have a long list of blocked phone numbers, contacts or email accounts, removing them can be quite a lot of work if you want to remove all or most of them quickly. Apple does not provide users with a method to unblock multiple contacts simultaneously. This has to be done one at a time. In this article, I will show you an approach that still removes entries individually but significantly expedites the process.
Unblocking a lot of people at once might be done for several reasons:
- Unblocking many individuals can be viewed as a way of letting go of past grudges or negative feelings, which can improve your mental health.
- If the concerns that caused you to block those people are addressed, or if the situation changes, you may choose to unblock many people at once.
- Unblocking many people at once as can be a part of a personal or professional reconciliation effort.
Unblocking people involves removing them from the Blocked Contacts list. In this article, we will use a Mac that is logged in with the same Apple ID as your iPhone or iPad so that our changes take effect on all devices. Here is how:
- Open Messages or FaceTime on your Mac. For the purpose of this article, I will use Messages.
- Click Messages and Settings, or alternatively click the Command and ‘,‘ keys together.
- Click the iMessage tab on the Settings screen.
- Ensure that the Enable Messages in iCloud box is checked, and then click the Blocked tab.
- You will see all of your blocked contacts. Using your mouse or pointer, select the item at the very top to highlight it. Now move your pointer over the Delete (-) button and then keep pressing the trackpad or mouse to delete the items. Deleting a lot of items can be done quickly.
Now you are done. Since they are all signed in with the same Apple ID, the changes will sync to your iPhone and iPad. This means that unblocked items will also be removed from the Blocked Contact list on your iPhone and iPad.
