  1. Same issue here with Mojave. Not possible tu update Affinity Photo, Telegram and Evernote. This problem exist for years and Apple will not fix it. Seems to be the policy to force the user upgrading from Mojave 🙁

  2. PS to comment above :

    When doing :
    Reinstall the App
    Open the Mac App Store.
Sign in with your Apple ID.
Find your app, Click the download button next to the app.

The app is not downloadable, as it still shows as an update, and the updates dont work. So I lost an app 🙁

  3. Hi, I have tried everything on your list and I still have 4 apps that wont update on Mojave 10.14.6 Macbook Pro mid 2015. They are relatively independent apps and YET they ALL successfully updated on my iMac 27″ mid 2015 ???

Apps, Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer, Keeper Password Manager, Templates for Microsoft Office – GN.

I was thinking of updating to Big Sur, however I have issues with potential compatibility problems with external audio hardware I use.

Do you have any other ideas.

    Thanks Greg

    1. Having the exact issue today trying to update Affinity Photo and Designer to 1.9.1. It seems Affinity Photo updated successfully but I just quit the App Store app because both were just spinning forever. Photo still shows an update available even though the app splash screen shows 1.9.1 but Designer just won’t update. Publisher (not done through the App Store) updated fine. Frustrating to say the least.

      1. I was able to get this resolved the other day with help from Affinity’s forums and one of the users there. Refer to this post (https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/136350-mac-app-store-isnt-letting-me-download-the-191-update/&do=findComment&comment=751798)

Basically, open the Activity Monitor utility, search for and kill the ‘appstoreagent’ process (**while the App Store is open**). I then had the update button back next to Affinity Designer. Clicked it and it ran to about 95% pretty quick. Waited awhile longer and it eventually succeeded.

Hope this helps you all too.

    2. I tried everything on the list to get updates to work, but all failed, last thing i tried was to halt my anti virus and quit appstoreagent in activity monitor and then Affinity photo updated and the other couple of apps that had not done so either all updated.
